Aqua Sphere Heron Lake Open Water Race Set for August 30, 2008
Aqua Sphere sponsored Heron Lake open water course will host challenging race

UK - Heron Lake Swimming, the group which combines the knowledge of expert triathlon coach Rick Kiddle with equipment specialist SBR Sports, is organising The Aqua Sphere Open Water Race at Heron Lake on August 30th.

This event is perfectly placed to provide triathletes who are competing in the Ironman UK event on Sep. 7th with a final opportunity to test themselves over a measured 3.8 km Ironman swim distance. A shorter 1500 swim will also be run on the day to provide other triathletes with the opportunity to swim a measured Olympic distance, and is a great distance for wannabe triathletes to take their first test of the water and develop their technique.   

The Aqua Sphere Open Water Race is, as the name suggests, sponsored by swim kit guru Aqua Sphere who are providing branded caps for all participants and prizes for the first three male and female swimmers. The event coincides with Heron Lake Swimming's regular weekend open-water swimming events where 200 - 300 triathletes regularly practice their open water swimming technique and test out different kits. The event start time is 6:30am with registration from 6:00am. Entry is £8 in advance by contacting Rick Kiddle or £10 at the event.
